CommonControl

Who controls this company?

Enter a company name or number to trace its owners and get its associated companies.

CommonControl is a free search tool for working out a company's associated companies. Since April 2023, the number of associated companies divides the limits for the small profits rate and marginal relief, and it goes in box 326 of the CT600. We follow the ownership through the Companies House register, then show you what counts, what needs checking and why.

What it works out

Associated companies

A count for CT600 box 326 and the marginal relief limits for the period, with anything uncertain shown separately.

Group companies

Companies in the same group, with the ownership worked out through the chain. The PDF report sets out the 51% and 75% group detail.

Close company

Whether it looks controlled by five or fewer participators, or by participators who are directors.

Clear about how sure we are

Every company gets a label, a reason in plain English and links to the records behind it.

Honest about what the register can't show

Holdings of 25% or less, family links, commercial interdependence and overseas companies. Where they matter, we ask you.
